Navy Petty Officer Jason Gregory Potts, 38, of Virginia Beach, VA died at the Virginia Beach General Hospital on June 20, 2009 as a result of injuries sustain from a motorcycle accident.

He was born on Oklahoma City, OK on June 3, 1971, the son of Jerry Potts and Marsha (Anderson) DuMont. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Since 1989 he had served in the United States Navy, currently as a First Class Petty Officer assigned to the Center for Combat Systems in Virginia Beach, VA. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Fox, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He had also served as a Navy recruiter in New Hampshire for three years. He loved riding his Harley and will be missed by his family and friends.

In His Life:
Family members include his mother of Manchester; his father of Glenco, OK, two sisters, Jaime Netzley-Wrye and her husband Douglas of Pittsfield, and JoDawn Potts of AR; a brother, Stephen Potts of OK; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters, Lori Kennepohl in 2008, Stephanie Potts and Jackie Potts; and by a brother, Gregory Potts.

Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Sunday from 3 to 8 PM. A committal service with military honors will take place on Monday at 2 PM in the chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery with Navy Chaplain Daniel Whitaker officiating.
